Enzymatic degradation of non–starchpolysaccharides in vegetable proteins in poultry diets

چکیده

Vegetable proteins such as soybean meal, canola meal and lupins are widely used as the main protein source in poultry diets. However, there is only limited information on the nutritive or anti–nutritive effects of indigestible non–starch polysaccharides in vegetable proteins. This review discusses a number of experiments which investigated the effects of feed enzymes on the utilisation of non–starch polysaccharide (NSP) in lupins, soybean meal, canola meal and sunflower meal included at a minimum of 350 g/kg in semi–purified broiler diets. It was shown that enzymes with a high level of polygalacturonase activity were able to depolymerise part of the soluble and insoluble pectic polysaccharides in vegetable proteins. However, significant effects on broiler performance and nutrient digestibility were only evident when enzymes were included at very high levels in the diet.

The Efficacy of Plant based Diets on Growth Potential, Energy Utilization, Nutrient Digestibility, Leg Bone Development and Litter Quality of Meat Chickens

Both plant and animal ingredients are used commonly to formulate balanced diets for poultry. Although many changes have been occurred in the genetics, nutrition and feeding of modern meat chickens, free selection and indiscriminate uses of feedstuffs for the non-ruminant animal diets can be hazardous due to the emerging threat of diseases outbreak via animal by-products. Besides this, many othe...

Effect of Vegetable Oil Types on Energy Expenditure, Abdominal Fat Deposition and Fatty Acid Profile of Breast and Thigh Muscles in Broilers

This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of different vegetable oil types on broiler energy expenditure, abdominal fat deposition and fatty acid profile of breast and thigh. A total number of 300 un-sexed day-old cobb 500 broiler chickens were used in a completely randomized design, consisted of five treatments (five different vegetable oil sources including soy, flaxseed, canola, ...

ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) are small, short-lived and highly reactive molecules that can oxidize proteins, lipids and DNA. ROS are formed by incomplete one-electron reduction of oxygen. ROS include oxygen anions, free radicals, including superoxide and hydroxyl radicals, and peroxides such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).  Autophagy is a catabolic pathway for degradation ...

The role of exogenous enzymes in promoting growth and improving nutrient digestibility in poultry

The value of dietary exogenous enzymes in promoting growth and efficiency of feed utilization is well recognized in poultry industry. In a case of high-cost yellow corn, several feed producers are choosing to replace yellow corn with other ingredients that have lower nutritional value like triticale, wheat, barley or sorghum. These crops are rich in non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs), and there ...

To evaluatethe effects of supplementing diets of growing Japanese quails (n=450; 7 days old) with chromium (Cr) yeast and / or mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) on productive performance, carcass traits and the immune system are reported. Diets were a basal diet (control) or the basal diet supplemented with 600 mg Cr-yeast/kg (Cr 1), 1200 mg Cr-yeast/kg (Cr 2), 1.0 g MOS/kg, Cr 1 + MOS or Cr 2 + MO...
